Kitesurfing at Sopelana

Sopelana, just north of Bilbao, is one of the Basque Country's classic beaches, framed by dramatic cliffs and exposed to the full force of the Bay of Biscay. It works in north-westerly through south-westerly winds and picks up powerful swell, making it a demanding wave spot for experienced riders. Access is via steep cliff paths and conditions can be serious.
