Kitesurfing at Somo

Somo, across the bay from Santander, is the surfing and kitesurfing heart of Cantabria, with a long sandy beach and the El Puntal spit reaching into the estuary. It catches consistent Atlantic swell in north-westerly to westerly winds, offering waves on the open beach and flatter water in the shelter of the spit. A busy, well-equipped spot with a strong board culture.
