Kitesurfing at Les Sables-d'Olonne

Les Sables-d'Olonne, the famous Vendée sailing town and home of the Vendée Globe, offers a long sandy Grande Plage right in front of the resort. Southerly through westerly winds work best, giving cross-onshore conditions with chop and small waves. Beaches on either side of the port mean there is usually a sheltered or exposed option depending on the wind.
