Kitesurfing at Hourtin-Plage

Hourtin-Plage is a wide Atlantic beach on the Médoc coast, backed by dunes and pine forest and known for its long stretch of open sand. Westerly through south-westerly winds blow cross-onshore over consistent ocean swell, giving waves and chop that suit intermediate and wave-oriented riders. The nearby Lac d'Hourtin also offers flat freshwater riding when the sea is too big.
