Berck-sur-Mer, on the Opal Coast, has a huge flat beach that turns into a vast expanse of firm sand at low tide, long famous as a capital of sand yachting. South-westerly through north-westerly winds blow cross-shore, with shallow chop-to-flat water that is forgiving for freeriders and beginners. The enormous beach gives almost unlimited space to ride.
