Ferragudo is an almost enclosed lagoon sheltered from the sea by breakwaters. It's a decent beginner spot, and is protected from strong waves and currents. While suitable for novices, it can get choppy in stronger winds.

Martinhal is a long sandy beach that is ideal for speed sailing and freestyle riding. The wind blows reliably and strong here, creating flat water conditions due to the offshore wind. A popular spot for advanced riders looking to enjoy flatter waters and high-speed runs.

Meia Praia
Meia Praia is a slalom and freeride paradise, with offshore northerly winds offering steady conditions for intermediates. The wind usually kicks in during the late afternoon, and the beach is expansive enough to accommodate a large number of riders without feeling crowded.

Praia Grande & Praia dos Salgados
Praia Grande and Praia dos Salgados offer long sandy beaches, making them great for freeride and wave riding. Conditions are more reliable in the summer when the wind blows, but winter brings cross-shore winds that are also rideable.

Praia da Rocha
Praia da Rocha is a famous rocky beach popular with tourists. The spot is great for slalom and wave riding, but the cliffs can make the wind gusty. Best visited in summer when the winds blow consistently.

Praia de Alvor offers conditions similar to Meia Praia, with offshore winds and perfect waves for slalom and freeride. Winter brings stronger winds, making it a top spot for advanced kiters. Cross-shore winds make it ideal for experienced windsurfers as well.

Ria de Alvor is a popular flat-water lagoon, perfect for beginner to intermediate riders. The standing-depth water creates a safe environment for kiting and windsurfing. Protected by breakwaters, it is ideal for smooth cruising and practicing new skills.

Tonel
Tonel, also known as 'Little Guincho', is famous for its big waves and radical action. This spot offers clean sets for jumping and frontside riding. The cross-shore wind is often gusty, making it challenging for smaller sails. The beach is surrounded by cliffs, with strong currents and tricky shore breaks in winter.

Vilamoura
Vilamoura is generally not ideal for kiting in the summer, as the wind is too weak. However, it offers good conditions in winter during south-easterly storms. The breakwater provides flat water, making it suitable for beginners.
